HISTORY OF FACULTY

Faculty of Engineering, Sumbawa University of Technology, is a merger of the Faculty of Informatics Technology and the Faculty of Mining Technology under the auspices of the Dea Mas Foundation, which aims to establish a polytechnic-based campus in the Sumbawa Regency area.

At the beginning of 2013, the merger of ST3S and STIES (Sumbawa College of Economics) into Sumbawa University of Technology (UTS), then established 6 faculties: Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Technobiology, Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Communication Sciences, and Faculty of Economics.

Along with the passage of time and the desire that each study program under the Faculty of Engineering can be more focused in carrying out its academic programs and to realize better and efficient governance, Sumbawa University of Technology made a policy that develops the Faculty of Engineering into two faculties, namely the Faculty of Informatics Technology (FTI) and the Faculty of Mining Technology (FTT). So issued Rector’s Decree number: 11b / UTS / SK / VI / 2015 and 12 / UTS / SK / VI / 2015, so that the Faculty of Engineering in June 2015 was developed into two Faculties, namely the Faculty of Informatics Technology and the Faculty of Mining Technology. Furthermore, the Faculty of Informatics Technology became an independent faculty with 3 study programs, namely informatics engineering study program, electrical engineering study program, and civil engineering study program.

Faculty of Informatics Technology, Sumbawa University of Technology, in 2015 has entered the age of 6 months. During the 6 months of the trip, many important events have occurred. Some success has been achieved by the faculty with the second largest number of students at Sumbawa University of Technology, ranging from various seminars and competitions that have been held, to improving the quality and quantity of students, lecturers and education personnel. However, efforts to encourage and improve the capacity and quality of the Faculty of Informatics Technology, Sumbawa University of Technology, as an educational institution need and must continue to be carried out in a sustainable manner.
